June started off very eventful. The last night of May the four of us went out to dinner at the Tepanyaki place. It was very good. The first day of June we went and watched a sports show at the University right by our house, National Changhua university of Education. We teach a University class to sports students and they were in the show. It was fun seeing them perform. Although I couldn't understand what was going on, it was pretty funny in its own way.

Sunday June 2nd was very eventful. At church the baptismal font was left on and the church flooded. The bathrooms flooded and it went into the hallway and started to go into the chapel. Most of Sunday school was spent squeegeeing, vacuuming, moping, and towel drying the floor. It was insane. I took some pictures of the two wards working together to stop the flooding. After church, just having walked through the door, another earthquake hit. I had my skirt half off and all the doors and walls started shaking. This time I was less scared, but it was still scary. I have 16 cement floors on top of me and I had no idea where to go or what to do! It was very eventful though. We fed the missionaries lunch and then played a little game. It was really funny. The missionaries in Changhua are great. It was a very fun, eventful day in Taiwan.

The first week of June went by pretty quick. The first weekend in June, Rochelle and I went on a 3 day military diet. I'll let you know how that goes. Because of that, I didn't really want to do anything that weekend, because I didn't want to be tempted to eat. And I also had a talk to prepare for Sunday. So Saturday I was working on my talk and decided to start some laundry. I go up to the third floor laundry balcony and start to do my laundry. Well I must have kicked the chair that was holding the door open and the door slammed shut, catching one of Eric's shirts, hanger and all, and getting them lodged in the door. I could not open the door, the handle wouldn't turn and the whole door would not budge. I tried to move the hanger and shirt-nothing. I knocked, and shouted, and then I banged. Eric and Rochelle weren't home so the only hope I had was Tessa hearing me. Luckily after only about 5 minutes she did. Then together we tried to make the door move. We finally had to jimmy the hanger and then shirt out of the way before the door would move and I was free! It was so humid even standing out there, before I realized I was locked out I had began to sweat. It could have been worse, I could have been stuck for a while with nothing to do except switch my laundry and no water. But it was still pretty scary nontheless.
June 12th we had the day off for Dragon Boat festival and went to Lugang to watch the Dragon Boat races. It was a pretty small affair in Lugang, not as busy as we thought it would be. We did see a couple of races and walked around the little market they had set up for it. The coolest part was the porta potties that were squattys! There were squatty porta potties! Mostly it was a lot of looking around and walking in the hot sun. We met up with some of the teachers in our ward so it was fun, just really tiring.

Later in the month Eric, Rochelle, and I went with James and his son to a paper church. It was supposedly all made out of paper, but it really was not that exciting. We got there and were kinda disappointed. We also swung by a Taiwanese brewery and took some pictures outside. No matter what we do, it is always fun to see new things and get out of Changhua for a little bit. It is a nice breath of fresh (well as fresh as you can get in Asia) air. June also had a couple of bigger trips in it but those each deserve their own posts. Umm one day I also came home, and there was a huge cricket in my bed! That was a fun surprise, and not one I ever want again. Oh there was also the night Tessa and I wanted good American food so we went to Taichung and went to a restaurant that has root beer! That was a treat.

June went by waaayyy too fast. It was my last full month with Eric, Rochelle, and Tessa, the new teachers came the last week of June. It was also my last full month with my Basic Reading classes. Here are my last class photos with my kids. You would think because I move around so much that I would like change, but I hate change almost more than anything. I got sick in June because I was so terrified of the change. Eric, Rochelle, and Tessa leaving, new people coming who I didn't know, new classes. I mean yes, I got over it eventually, but June was hard. I had a lot of stress dreams that month, got a cold at the end of the month and was so sad no food sounded good to me. Yes I am crazy and you would think I would be used to this by now. Except usually I'm the one leaving. This time I felt left and that made it so much harder. I guess I just have to keep moving so I never feel like that again :)
